Sverre Uhnger is a craftsman and trained designer from Bergen University of Art and Design and Aalto University in Helsinki. Sverre focuses on creating objects that feel natural to the user and where the quality of the materials and production techniques are emphasised.
Thomas Jenkins has worked in leading design offices before starting his own studio in 2010. His interest in production and materials combined with craft traditions has led him to design furniture and objects with a focus on interaction.

PRODUCTS FOR THE EXHIBITION
AS LONG AS YOU LIKE - As Long As You Like is an archetypal long table that can be delivered in any length. The combination of materials in the tabletop creates a pattern while reflecting the table's modularity. The table is shown here with a top and base in solid ash and table tops in Larvikitt, a unique stone type that can only be found in Lundh's quarry in Larvik.
The table has a traditional structure with a solid base that carries the top plates. The length of the table is based on one 60cm place setting and has a minimum length of 160cm. In this way, whatever the length, there will be plenty of space for crockery and the chairs will fit between the table legs.

To create a table that can be delivered in infinite length, the object must be divided into several parts. By experimenting with the use of materials in the plate tops, this grip is reinforced and gives the object function and identity. As Long As You Like has a robust design language that focuses on clean lines and fine proportions.
