Holmegaard is a Danish brand with a history that stretches back to 1823, when Lensgrave Christian Danneskiold-Samsøe applied to build a glassworks in Holmegaard Mose. The Count died before the application was granted, but his widow Henriette Danneskiold-Samsøe decided to continue the project. 1825 was the start of a long and proud production of mouth-blown glass, and today many of Denmark's best artists and designers are associated with glass production in Holmegaard. Holmegaard now produces both mouth-blown and machine-blown glass in accordance with the latest and most advanced production methods. Each piece of mouth-blown glass is handmade and therefore unique.
