King Christian IV established the first ironworks at Bærums Verk in 1610. The works became widely known for its magnificent cast iron furnaces, designed by skilled artists.

The light dish Aura is inspired by local history and the unique properties of iron. The design is modern and the material is ancient. With its solid quality and robust surface, cast iron has always been used for everyday products in thousands of homes.

Aura is both completely new and a little old. For everyday and parties. Light candles!


Torsteinsen Design consists of Fredrik Torsteinsen, Solveig Torsteinsen and Vidar Øverby. Together, they have 60 years of experience in design, and they also have a background in furniture production, carpentry and textiles. Their studio is filled with prototypes and models. The products are inspired by the functional but organic forms of the Scandinavian design tradition, and strive to be both beautiful and robust.
