Kr 280

The plate decorated with the pattern Unikko, designed by Maija and Kristina Isola.

Marimekko's famous poppy pattern Unikko was created in 1964 at a time when the design house's collections mostly featured abstract prints. The designer Maija Isola wanted to create something interesting from an organic theme and designed a whole range of floral prints. Today, the iconic flower represents creativity.

Marimekko is a Finnish design house recognized worldwide for
its original prints and colors. Marimekko was founded in 1951 by the visionary
the woman Armi Ratia, and is one of the world's first real lifestyle brands that
combines fashion, bags and accessories as well as interiors in a timeless, sustainable and
functional design. The heart and soul of Marimekko's designs is their own
textile factory in Helsinki, where the bold patterns and colors are created
life. Around one million meters of fabric are printed at the factory each year.
