Braun Analog Alarm Clock w/Light BC22W White
Designer: Dieter Rams
Dimensions: 9.7x8.5cm, Depth 4.2cm
The BC22W Classic Analog Alarm Clock is unique in form. The silhouette is taken from
The AB 2 watch designed in 1984 by Dieter Rams. The clean, simple dial and contrasting hands with luminous tips ensure good readability. The addition of the iconic yellow seconds hand is synonymous with Braun's award-winning design history and long-lasting aesthetic.
As with all Braun products, emphasis has been placed on ease of use and functionality, and this is perfectly illustrated by the continuous backlight function that subtly illuminates the dial in low-light environments. The discreet backlighting aids legibility, resulting in effortless reading at night. This feature can also be disabled by the user.
Among the functions is a snooze and light function, as well as a crescendo alarm that is set visibly on the dial with a green indicator. The BC22 is powered by a quartz movement which ensures that the watch is quiet and precise.
In the mid-1950s, Braun and Dieter Rams introduced modern industrial design to the general public. The products Dieter Rams designed for Braun have, among other things, inspired Apple's clean design line. This alarm clock is no exception.
