Georg Jensen Damask Christmas Kitchen towel Copenhagen Green
Supplier: Georg Jensen Damask
Designer: Bodil Bødtker-Næss
Material: 50% Cotton and 50% Linen
Washing instructions: 60°C. Tip: Place the dish towel in cold water for 24 hours before washing it at 60°C. The soaking causes the fibers to open up, which ensures high drying ability from the start. Remember to unfold the dish towel completely before soaking. The product can withstand being tumble-dried, but we recommend that it be dried hanging, as this gives a smoother result and is more environmentally friendly.
The Christmas dish towel is part of a collection of woven Christmas textiles, which create an atmosphere around the holidays. The dish towel is made of linen and cotton, and therefore has perfect absorbency.
The Christmas motif was designed by Bodil Bødtker-Næss, who was part of the inner circle of textile artists around Georg Jensen Damask in the 1970s. For more than 45 years, the braided Christmas hearts and stylized fir branches have been synonymous with Christmas spirit, and the design is an indispensable part of Christmas in many homes.
The dark green color is one of Christmas' classic shades, and radiates Christmas as in the old days. The color creates a Christmas atmosphere in the kitchen.
With a history spanning more than 100 years, Georg Jensen represents unique craftsmanship and timeless aesthetic design ranging from small silverware to watches, jewelery and products for the home.
Georg Jensen's own philosophy was to create democratic design with both functionality and beauty. His craftsmanship and artistic talent, combined with his ability to identify and support design talent, were the foundations on which he built the Georg Jensen business in Copenhagen in 1904.
