Stelton is a Danish brand established by Niels Stellan Høm and Carton Madelaire more than 50 years ago. By merging their first names, they created one of Denmark's best-known design brands. Høm and Madelaire were initially comrades in the army and started the business selling sports shoes and furniture. The businesses didn't really get off the ground until they heard about a small factory in Fårevejle in Denmark called "Dansk Rustfrit". The factory produced serving parts in stainless steel, and after entering into a joint agreement, Stelton began to market a sauce bowl in stainless steel which became a great sales success far beyond Denmark's borders. Peter Holmblad stepped in as managing director and brought with him a far-reaching vision for the company. Together with international and Danish designers, Stelton today develops timeless quality products in steel.
