Aiayu

Alana Beanie Brown

Kr 1.695

The Alana hat is knitted from a heavy and soft Yak wool, and has a classic and close-fitting shape with a wide ribbed edge, which is perfect for folding up. A "must-have" accessory for chilly autumn and winter days.

Aiayu uses Yak wool from "The Green Gold Project", a project that helps protect the Mongolian steppes and ensures better wages for the country's traditional nomadic shepherds. The yarn is undyed, and has the natural color of the Yak goat.

Yak wool is incredibly soft and durable, and suitable for sensitive skin. Only the softest and finest fibers from Yaken's undercoat are used. Yak wool can feel like cashmere, while at the same time it is as strong and warm as the wool from Ilama.

Aiayu - pronounced [ai-ya-yu] - means 'soul' in the indigenous Aymara language of Bolivia. Their label was founded in 2005 by Maria Høgh Heilmann to create products with consideration for the environment, the worker and the user. Fabrics are chosen for their structures and tactile properties, how they feel against the skin. The gentle, natural palette reveals materials and yarns primarily in their natural color without the use of chemical dyes. The garments are made in Bolivia, India and Nepal and are closely linked to their origins and people.
