Kay Bojesen

Kay Bojesen was a Danish silversmith and designer particularly known for his humorous and charming wooden figures. Bojesen was fully trained as a silversmith in 1910 and made over 2,000 separate handicrafts, including jewellery, cutlery and teapots. After he had his son Otto in 1919, his fascination with children, toys and wood increased, and with inspiration from, among other things, his own childhood, Bojesen began to seriously cultivate his interest in wood beyond the 1930s. He created a series of imaginative wooden animals based on the child's own world. The wooden animals should be soft and easy to hold in the hand, and at the same time be solid and inspire play. Today, the Bojesen family continues to manage the legacy, and they have chosen Rosendahl Design Group to develop, manufacture and distribute Bojesen's products.
