Skaugum Teaspoon 13cm

Kr 270

Teaspoon in an elegant classic Norwegian cutlery produced in Geilo. The cutlery is available with handles in black or white plastic or in teak or kebony.

Skaugum uses teak, which is leftover material from the production of boat trim. It is supplied by Kärnsund Wood and certified for FSC® and PEFC™ . In addition to these certifications, Kärnsund Wood works to comply with all aspects of EU timber legislation.

Kebony is a modified wood. Developed in Norway, Kebony is an environmentally friendly, patented process that enhances the properties of sustainable softwood with a bio-based liquid. The process permanently alters the wood cell walls, giving Kebony premium hardwood properties and a rich brown color throughout in two basic steps. Although the wood is Kebnoy treated, it should not be washed in a dishwasher.

Skaugum Bestikkfabrikk has made its cutlery by hand since 1943 in the factory in Geilo. The plastic shafts are molded while the wooden shafts are sawn and milled. Each part is sharpened, polished and drilled by hand on machines from another era. The cutlery which was originally called "Märtha" had to change its name and the chairman of the board, Milorg hero Jens Christian Hauge called his friend King Haakon, who approved that the name "Skaugum" be used.
