The iconic Skaugum cutlery in a new, modern interpretation. With a brushed surface and the same timeless design, this series combines elegance with function. The cutlery is durable, made to last, and of course – dishwasher safe.
The set consists of 6 tablespoons, a fork and a knife.
Skaugum Bestikkfabrikk has made its cutlery by hand since 1943 in the factory in Geilo. The plastic shafts are molded while the wooden shafts are sawn and milled. Each part is sharpened, polished and drilled by hand on machines from another era. The cutlery which was originally called "Märtha" had to change its name and the chairman of the board, Milorg hero Jens Christian Hauge called his friend King Haakon, who approved that the name "Skaugum" be used.

Dishwasher safe.
Before putting cutlery in the dishwasher, it should be rinsed thoroughly. It is also important that the cutlery is completely dry before putting it away to avoid water spots.
Please note that both water quality and type of detergent can affect the cutlery.
Occasionally, a chemical reaction can occur in the dishwasher between the steel, detergent and other materials. This can lead to a brown coating that may look like rust, but is not. This coating can be easily removed with scouring cream or metal polish. Use a soft sponge or cloth that will not scratch the surface.
Such deposits most often occur on the knife blade, as it is made of a different alloy than the handle. The knife blade is manufactured from 13/0 steel to provide the necessary hardness, while the handle is made from 18/10 steel for optimal corrosion resistance. If the entire knife were made from 18/10 steel, it would be too soft for effective cutting.
