Baby is a soft hat in undyed wool from Ilama. The hat is in garter stitch and has a wide ribbed turn-up brim. A sure winner when winter shows its cold side.

Aiayu sources Ilama wool from a factory in Bolivia that purifies and reuses waste water and uses renewable energy. Ilama wool is Aiayu's signature material and has amazing properties; it is durable, low-pilling, suitable for allergy sufferers, self-cleaning and, not least, warm. A little wonder from nature.

The colors in the hats are natural and refined without the use of chemicals. They come exactly as nature created them, with slight differences in color and shades.

Aiayu - pronounced [ai-ya-yu] - means 'soul' in the indigenous Aymara language of Bolivia. Their label was founded in 2005 by Maria Høgh Heilmann to create products with consideration for the environment, the worker and the user. Fabrics are chosen for their structures and tactile properties, how they feel against the skin. The gentle, natural palette reveals materials and yarns primarily in their natural color without the use of chemical dyes. The garments are made in Bolivia, India and Nepal and are closely linked to their origins and people.

  • Leave the hat in the water for 10-15 minutes. Squeeze out the water gently, avoid twisting the hat and let it dry flat.
