Preg is a mountain, in a series of objects from Aula with the same name, where the ornament plays the main role. By analyzing historical decorative art, Aula has developed a new interpretation of the ornament, and implemented these in the objects. The motifs are based on the geometric principles found in acanthus and caraway, and are a further development adapted to modern technology.
The Preg series consists of a barrel, three different ashtrays and a mount. Preg is treated with a food-safe hard wax oil. It is cleaned by wiping with a well-wrung cloth. Preg is produced in Norway.

Aula is an anthropological design agency, run by Marie Sagen and Sara Gretteberg. Aula develops visual expressions within a spectrum of the design field, such as branding, set design, interior architecture and product development. The common denominator in their work is that they draw an anthropological way of thinking into the subject of design, i.e. the study of people and cultures.
Aula's main goal is to uncover and understand how we humans shape and are shaped by our surroundings; the homes we live in, the things we surround ourselves with and the art we like. By entering into projects with a focus on the relationships between people, space and objects, they constantly work in parallel between actor and recipient, and in that way create a more directed and sustainable final product.
