1959 is a classic waffle weave tea towel woven from 100% cotton, designed by textile engineer Bent Georg Jensen, who for many years was at the forefront of Georg Jensen Damask. The towel is perfect whether you want to dry the dishes with it or use it as a hand towel. Feel free to combine it with one of the other fine tea towels from Georg Jensen Damask.

Designer and textile engineer Bent Georg Jensen placed great emphasis on combining quality, aesthetics, function and design in his work. The 1959 kitchen towel can therefore be used as both a dish towel and a tea towel and works well with other kitchen textiles from Georg Jensen Damask. The unique waffle weave ensures optimal drying performance.

  • Dimensions:50 x 80 cm. The measurements are after washing.
  • Color:Deep Glass, Bright Blue or Archive
  • Wash at 60°C.
  • For the colored products, detergent for colored textiles without bleach is recommended to preserve the product's colors as best as possible.
  • Before using the product for the first time, it is recommended that you soak it in cold water for approx. 24 hours. This causes the fibers to straighten and ensures high drying performance from the start.
  • Unfold the product completely before soaking and washing and avoid overfilling the machine as it produces a smoother product.
  • We recommend hanging the product to dry.
  • If you want a smooth and shiny look, ironing is recommended.
