The neck is double knitted and the poncho has long sleeves with ribbed cuffs and thumb holes. The poncho has a wide ribbed hem and a roomy fit.

Genuine Donegal Mohair Tweed yarn is a soft mohair tweed wool with a homespun feel and colours inspired by nature. An important characteristic is that the yarn has contrasting colour speckles. Known as "genuine Donegal tweed", the yarn has been spun in Donegal County, Ireland since the early 1900s and is renowned worldwide.

This poncho is fully fashioned, meaning that each piece is knitted separately. This means that you only use the material needed for a sweater and there is little that needs to be thrown away.

Nygårdsanna's clothes are modest and subdued. They should never drown out the wearer. For Nygårdsanna, no garment is ready until a person wears it, before it becomes someone's. The clothes must also fit different bodies. The color scale is taken from nature. There are intermediate colors which are strong without being clear, but which are more muted or almost faded hues.
