Pieni Unikko Oven Mitten

Kr 240

Oven mitten featuring the iconic Unikko pattern. Made from organic cotton with polyester padding and a small loop at one end for easy hanging. 50% of the filling is made from recycled polyester.

Marimekko’s famous Unikko poppy pattern was created in 1964, at a time when the design house’s collections mainly featured abstract prints. Designer Maija Isola wanted to create something new inspired by an organic theme and designed a series of bold floral prints. Today, the iconic Unikko flower is a symbol of creativity.

Marimekko is a Finnish design house known around the world for its distinctive prints and bold use of colour. Founded in 1951 by the visionary Armi Ratia, Marimekko has grown into an iconic lifestyle brand spanning fashion, bags, accessories and home interiors, all characterised by timeless and functional design. At the heart of Marimekko is its own textile printing factory in Helsinki, where the brand’s distinctive patterns and colours come to life. Around one million metres of fabric are printed at the factory each year.
