The glaciers once carved out the Sognefjord 205 kilometers into Sogn og Fjordane, making it Norway's longest and the world's second-longest fjord.

The fjord and the surrounding landscape are spectacular and beautiful, and the elevation difference from the bottom of the fjord to the highest peak is over 3000 meters. The mountains and landscape surrounding the innermost part of the Sognefjord are among Norway's most visited hiking areas, with Jotunheimen, Jostedalsbreen, and Aurlandsdalen being some of the most famous.
