Melvin Baby Blanket

The Melvin baby blanket is an interpretation of flowers dancing in a gentle breeze. The stylised flowers are set against a graduated background, with the motif and colour palette inspired by traditional Japanese woodblock prints.

When the blanket is turned over, the colours of the flowers and the gradient shift. Creating the motif requires an advanced weaving technique in which three parallel yarn colours interact instead of two.

With roots dating back to the 18th century, Røros Tweed has a long tradition of working with Norwegian wool and textile production. The factory in Røros, located 600 metres above sea level, opened in 1952. Before then, much of the production took place in the homes of local craftspeople.

Over the years, Røros Tweed has continued to explore the qualities of Norwegian wool, creating textiles where quality, function and thoughtful design are central. Through collaborations with Norwegian designers, they combine contemporary expressions with the distinctive aesthetic and cultural heritage of Røros.

Remember that wool can be aired several times before it needs washing. Stains can be removed with a little water and mild soap. When washing the blanket, hand wash at 30°C using a mild detergent. Gently press out excess water and leave the blanket to dry flat. Always follow the care instructions on the product.
