Laguz Bookend

Kr 1,980

Laguz is a sculptural cast iron bookend from Nedre Foss, designed by Swiss-French designer Julie Richoz. With its distinctive shape, Laguz combines functional design with a striking aesthetic, making it a decorative object in its own right.

Originally conceived as a bookend, Laguz is also well suited as a substantial, freestanding design object. Its integrated handle evokes traditional weights and highlights the piece's distinctive character.

The design draws inspiration from German Expressionism of the 1920s, with elongated lines and a sculptural form that creates a dynamic sense of movement.

The name Laguz comes from the L-rune of the Elder Futhark, traditionally associated with water, intuition, emotions and the subconscious.

Nedre Foss was founded by the Norwegian design duo Anderssen & Voll in 2009. At the heart of Nedre Foss's design philosophy is the concept of the “Century Product” and what they refer to as functional sculpture.

This philosophy is based on creating objects designed to last for at least 100 years, where sculptural qualities and practical functionality are equally important aspects of the design.

Quality, craftsmanship and longevity are therefore central to every product developed by Nedre Foss.
