Anker Candleholder
Anker is a solid cast iron pillar candleholder designed by Norwegian designers Torbjørn Anderssen and Espen Voll for Nedre Foss. It combines timeless design with the raw character of cast iron, creating an object that feels both contemporary and rooted in tradition.
Anker reflects the core values of Nedre Foss: natural materials, solid craftsmanship, durability and design made to last. Created from recycled scrap metal, the candleholder gives new life to an existing material while maintaining a distinctive sculptural expression.
Each candleholder is cast in Sweden using 5,150 grams of GG25 cast iron and treated with rapeseed oil at 290°C.
With its substantial weight and understated design, Anker is both a functional candleholder and a sculptural object for the home.
Nedre Foss was founded in 2009 by the Norwegian design duo Anderssen & Voll. At the heart of the brand's design philosophy are the concepts of the “Century Product” and what they describe as “functional sculpture”.
These concepts reflect the ambition to create objects designed to last for at least 100 years, where sculptural qualities and practical functionality are equally important.
Quality, durability and longevity are therefore central to Nedre Foss's approach to product development.
