Anker Candlestick

Anker is a solid cast iron log candlestick, designed by Norwegian designers Torbjørn Anderssen and Espen Voll. It combines timeless design with raw materiality – an object that feels both modern and rooted in tradition.

Anker is a symbol of Nedre Foss' values: natural, solid, malleable, durable and made to last. New beauty created from old scrap metal – a sustainable design object with lasting aesthetic value.

Each candlestick is cast in Sweden from 5150 grams of GG25 cast iron and treated with rapeseed oil at 290 °C.

Nedre Foss was started by the design duo Anderssen & Voll in 2009. The core of Nedre Foss' design is the term "Century Product" and what they refer to as utility sculpture. By this is meant objects that will serve you for at least 100 years, and where the sculptural properties on the one hand and the aspect of use on the other are equal parts of the function. It may not need to be mentioned that quality and longevity also play a large role in product development for Nedre Foss.
