Lena W Herfindal

Saxifraga Necklace

Kr 3.500

Necklace in silver, cast in sepia shell.

Lena has traced the pattern into the sepia shell with a thin knitting needle before casting the jewelry, making each piece completely unique.

Casting in cuttlefish shells is an old technique where you also have the opportunity to use the structure of the shell in the pattern from the casting.

The names of the jewelry series come from Karl Blossfeldt's book, and are Latin names for various plants and flowers in his book.

Lena Herfindal is a trained metal and jewelery artist from Oslo University of the Arts in 2018. She makes jewelery in silver, brass and copper and is inspired by nature, architecture and the human body. Based on her intuitive drawings, she cuts out each individual piece of jewelery by hand, so all her jewelery is a work of art and is only available in one copy.
The jewelery varies in size and format from small shapes to larger ornamental structures.
