Blåsnipe Potholder 22x22cm

Potholder in 100% cotton, lined with heat-insulating wadding. The pattern Blåsnipe was designed by Gunnvor Een Sture sometime in the 1950s. The design was never commercially produced but has survived in the form of a tablecloth owned by the family. The original motif has an imperfect and hand-drawn expression, which was carried over into the new production of the textile.

The print shows a pair of snipes surrounded by vegetation, symmetrically arranged in a strong blue color on a light gray background. The motif draws inspiration from folk art and has a vibrant and classic expression. Blåsnipe is available as a tablecloth, napkins, potholder, placemats, and kitchen towel, and is suitable for all year-round occasions and everyday gatherings, year after year.

Sture Design holds the design rights to Alf Sture and Gunnvor Een Sture. In 2021, their grandchild took over responsibility for managing Sture Design, with the aim of preserving and further developing the design works of Alf Sture and Gunnvor Een Sture, as well as promoting the cultural heritage they represent.
