Cast iron fireplace insert from Korbo - designed by the duo Broberg & Ridderståle.

The fireplace set has clean and straight lines and consists of 3 parts; a fire rake, a shovel and a broom. The broom has an oak handle and a horsehair brush and all the parts are neatly placed in a stand. The set is both practical and beautiful.

All parts are cast by hand in sand molds - using traditional craft techniques. The sand molds are made anew for each casting, which means that the sets may vary slightly from one another. The brush is made in collaboration with Iris Hantverk, which makes each brush by hand and employs people with visual impairments.

Broberg & Ridderståle works with both architecture and design. They are inspired by everyday life, are based in Stockholm and have received several awards for their work.

Korbo has been making steel wicker baskets since 2006, inspired by baskets traditionally used by fishermen. Each basket is woven by hand, and the baskets are an investment that is impossible to wear out. In 2025, Korbo entered into a collaboration with Broberg & Ridderståle to make fireplace sets. Here, ancient craft techniques are also used, and the result is both beautiful, timeless and solid.
