The Tiiliskivi (brick) pattern was designed by Marimekko founder Armi Ratia. The pattern reflects her belief in the simple beauty of everyday life.

Founded in 1951 by the visionary Armi Ratia, Marimekko was one of the world’s first true lifestyle brands, combining fashion, bags and accessories with home interiors in timeless, sustainable and functional designs.

At the heart of Marimekko’s design is its own textile printing factory in Helsinki, where the bold patterns and colours come to life. Around one million metres of fabric are printed at the factory each year.
