Improvisaatio Tasaraita Beanie
The Improvisaatio beanie is knitted from 100% certified wool and features the Tasaraita pattern. The beanie has a wide, fold-up cuff and an embroidered Unikko flower at the front.
The wool can be traced to farms that follow regenerative farming principles.
The evenly striped Tasaraita pattern was designed by Annika Rimala. The stripes symbolise equality. The pattern was created as jeans were becoming increasingly popular among both women and men, inspiring Annika to design a collection of cotton jersey garments to be worn with denim. This led to Marimekko’s first cotton jersey collection, and the pattern has since been used across a wide range of Marimekko products.
Marimekko is a Finnish design house recognised worldwide for its original prints and colours. Founded in 1951 by the visionary Armi Ratia, Marimekko was one of the world’s first true lifestyle brands, combining fashion, bags and accessories with home interiors in timeless, sustainable and functional designs.
At the heart of Marimekko’s design is its own textile printing factory in Helsinki, where the brand’s bold patterns and colours come to life. Around one million metres of fabric are printed at the factory each year.
