Maija Louekari has drawn inspiration for the Elokuun varjot pattern from her own wild garden. The designer is fascinated by the changing seasons in the north – the new beginning and the rich growth that follows, year after year.

Marimekko is a Finnish design house that is recognized worldwide for its original prints and colors. Founded in 1951 by the visionary Armi Ratia, Marimekko is one of the world's first true lifestyle brands that combines fashion, bags and accessories as well as interiors in a timeless, sustainable and functional design. The heart and soul of Marimekko's designs is their own textile factory in Helsinki, where the bold patterns and colors come to life. Around one million meters of fabric are printed at the factory each year.
