Kasvaa ankle socks are made from a cotton blend in the Tasaraita pattern (even stripe) and feature the poppy flower in the classic Unikko pattern on the ankle.
As jeans became increasingly popular among both women and men, Annika Rimala wanted to design a collection of jersey clothing to go with jeans. This is how Marimekko's first cotton jersey collection was created - a collection for all denim lovers, regardless of age, size or gender. The even stripes express equality.
Marimekko's famous poppy pattern Unikko was created in 1964 at a time when the design house's collections mostly contained abstract prints. Designer Maija Isola wanted to create something interesting in an organic theme and designed a whole range of floral prints. Today, the iconic flower represents creativity.
