The set is made of stoneware and is glazed. The set comes in a nice box with the Marimekko logo.

Marimekko's famous poppy pattern Unikko was created in 1964 at a time when the design house's collections mostly featured abstract prints. Designer Maija Isola wanted to create something interesting in an organic theme and designed a whole series of floral prints. Today, the iconic flower represents creativity.
