Matcha Set 3 Pieces Chamotte

3-piece matcha set in glazed chamotte clay. Chamotte is burnt refractory clay that is mixed into unburnt clay and gives the surface a fine structure.

The matcha set consists of a Japanese bowl called a chawan, a bamboo whisk (chasen) and a ceramic stand to place the whisk on after use so that it retains its shape.

The matcha set is made one by one and each set is unique.

Julie Liebenberg established Liebenberg ceramics in 2022, after working for several years as a nurse. For several years she had been looking for a creative way to use her hands and in May 2020 she visited a ceramics workshop in Lillestrøm and it was love at first touch. In January 2022, Julie took a big leap and established her own pottery workshop in Nittedal. It is there that she makes beautiful and user-friendly ceramics with a timeless aesthetic.
