The notebook has glossy pages and is bound with thread which makes the pages both robust and easy to open. This type of binding is often used for books that will remain open for a long time. This means that the notebook can lie open at 180 degrees.

 The MD notebook is wrapped in paraffin paper instead of a cover. Cover in either paper or goatskin which can be purchased next door, it will protect the notebook when not in use.
